Sierra Centro - Book

Introduction

The photos talk. They convey feelings. They show few rare moments in the nature as well as in people´s lives, landscape, faces, popular festivals, dawns and sunsets.

The images from this book try to encourage the spectator´s curiosity and at the same time to arose questions about how each photo was taken. In the remotest places of Sierra Centro (Center of Ecuador). The provinces of Chimborazo, Tungurahua, Bolivar, and Cotopaxi.

There are many anecdotes behind every voyage and that´s what happens in the center of Ecuador. La minga (group of people who helps each other in their town). This group achieve their work in less time. Those camaraderie links are convey generation after generation and it is beautiful to express them in pictures.

Far away, the native houses´ fume makes us think that the breakfast soon will be ready. In one of these homes, I see a pot full of hot coffee that rest over the fogon (fire). Parents and children join together, and they teach them, humility, honesty. They have to carry out their promises.

Going through Sierra Centro is so gratefully, when you share a smile with people. When you are in contact with the crowd who works in the camp without shoes.
